What this site is
Sapu Earth is a private, self-funded project. It pays local cleanup crews and publishes every cleanup as a public receipt: photos, kilograms, the crew and the money paid.
PRIVACY FOR VISITORS
What happens to your data when you visit sapu.earth. Crews who apply or upload get their own notice on those pages, linked above.
- Who: Sapu Earth is run by Marcus Pousette in Innsbruck, Austria. Contact: hello@sapu.earth.
- Hosting: Cloudflare hosts this site for us, as our processor. To send you a page, Cloudflare's servers receive your internet address (IP address) and what your browser sends with each request, such as the address of the page. No website can be shown without this.
- Flood protection: Cloudflare counts the requests from each internet address. An address that sends too many in a short time is briefly blocked. This keeps the site working for everyone.
- What we keep: nothing about your visit. Our own code and database never store your internet address. Only the crew application form keeps a scrambled code made from it, for about a day, to stop spam. This site sets no cookies. All its files, fonts and the globe included, come from sapu.earth, and the pages load nothing from other companies.
- Shown in a photo? if you appear in a photo or video on this site and want it taken down, email hello@sapu.earth. We then stop using it and remove it where we can. How we use the photos and videos crews send is in the notice for crew uploads.
- Why: to show you the site and to keep it safe and working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe, working website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Where: on Cloudflare servers, which may be outside the EU. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and uses the EU standard contractual clauses for other countries.
- Your rights: ask to see, correct or delete your details, or object to this processing, by emailing hello@sapu.earth. You can also complain to the Austrian data protection authority (dsb.gv.at).
